Great Day on the Courts

Friday, April 4th, was the greatest turn-out of players so far.  We had 24 players ranging from “newbees” to our higher level players and it looked like everyone had lots of fun.

On another note, we’d like to thank all our members, such as Carl & Lynn and Dennis Kinchloe, for bringing their friends to play with us.  I hope we’re all encouraging our friends and fellow players to join our club.

It also looks like some of our “Winer Birds” are returning, be sure and welcome them back. See ya all on the courts.

Shout-Out to our Friends in Pennsylvania

Yes you read the subject line right.  I recently received an email from Joe Nolt from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was on our blog, yes all the way from Pennsylvania, and saw the new Idaho paddles and are thinking maybe they too should have their own branded paddles/fashion so when they come to Boise State to compete they’ll be decked out too.  It’s really great to see others are checking our blog and I hope they continue.  Thanks to Joe for his email.

New Pickleball Club in Our Northwestern Neighbors

Recently I received an email from a fellow pickleballer, Mike Hoxie, from Oregon.  They started a new pickelball club in February and are now following our club’s blog.  Their club is Columbia River Pickleball Club.  They are just getting things rolling and could use our support so if you get a chance check out their website at: columbiariverpickleballclub.wordpress.com.  They also have a newsletter at: picklebarrelclassic.wordpress.com so check it out too.  So here’s a shout-out to Mike and his fellow pickleballers in Oregon.

It’s a Sad Day

On Sunday April 1, 2012 Richard (Dick) Connor passed away.  The pickleball community lost one of the best pickleball ambassadors and mentors we had in our area.  He was always willing to help “newbees” and promote the game he loved. We can honor his memory by continuing his legacy and reach out to “newbees” in your area and help the game he loved continue to grow.  The family hasn’t completed their funeral arrangements but when I find out more I’ll post the information.  Tami and I saw Dick on Friday and he wanted us to thank all of you for your prayers.
