Boise Area Pickleball News

More good news.  Today three new players, Scott Stolhand, Carl Maestas, and his wife Lynne Maestas came to play with us at HomeCourt.  So if you all would give them a warm welcome next time you see them that would be great.  Just for your FYI we had 17 players today and got in some really good games. Remember to let new players know the club has a blog, boisepickleball.wordpress.com, where they can keep up the the club’s activities and pickleball news in general.

I want to take a moment and thank all the members who are bringing friends and neighbors to play pickleball with.  Today Patty Beckes brought a friend, Margie Ridgeway, (who by the way played pretty darn good) to play with us today.  So thanks Patty.  Hope Margie decides to join us more often and maybe join our club as well as the USAPA.  Just remember it’s one member at a time and before you know it we’ll be a club with a lot of clout in the community which will help further the game we love.

With Jack joining the USAPA Ambassadorship that means we have four USAPA ambassadors in our club.  There’s also talk of maybe two more thinking of joining the other ambassadors but I’ll keep those names to myself.  So when you see Jack give him a big “Congrats” or just say, “Oh Jack”, he’ll understand.

BAPA Members

This is a “call to arms” to encourage ALL club members to join the USAPA.  Go to the link on this blog and check out the benefits.  Think about all they do for the game of pickleball and the membership is only $25 dollars a year.  Please give this request your upmost consideration, and you get a free T-Shirt and great stickers.  Just one more thing, please encourage any non-club member you know who plays pickleball to also join, remember membership with the USAPA helps us all.

Time is running out to take advantage of the training for new pickleball players offered by the Boise Schools Community Education next month. Remember the trainers are our own Jack and Joe Bonawitz so tell all your interested friends and neighbors.  For contact information go to the “Club Activities” tab and look at the February Training Class for information.  If you’d like to share our blog with them they can go to boisepickleball.wordpress.com and look for themselves.  Thanks in advance for all your help.
